Hello everyone, first of all my apologies for my bad english.I have been lurking around for awhile and decided to share my story.I am from Italy, and I've got a pretty sedentary life, at least the last ten years (spent most of the time seat in front a PC).My muscle twitching started about two years ago, mostly lying in bed (hotspot nose, back and temples)After an excessive effort, just a year ago, they have spread throughout the body, first calves and then arms, back, buttocks, all within a couple of days.Something that scare the hell out of me is that I woke up a couple of times with my right arm completely paralyzed, with no sensitivity', I had to spend almost 30 minutes to get him back to normal. This episode, push me to see my doctor which, in turns, set me an appointment with a neuro (not ALS specialist)The clincal exam was fine but for reassurence she ordered further testing, EMG and cervical MRI (April 2011).The MRI spot a C5-C6 discopathy, with stenosis of the channel and focal imprint of the dural sac.The first is EMG was dirty, with fibrillations and fasciculations in the legs ..... neuro advise for a new MRI in the lumbosacral region which not surprisingly (back pain all the time) spot a discopathy in l4-l5.At this point the neuro suggested to wait and see, and to repeat the EMG after 3 months. In July, I went for a second EMG which found large MUAPs together with fasciculation in all muscles examined ...At this point the neuro suggested to see an ALS specialist which I saw twice during the summer (july - august). He said that, considering my physiological status, I wouldn't ever have a EMG requested since everything was just fine (strenght, reflexes , coordination)Last EMG I had was at the end of August in the ALS center...it tooks more then one hour and it showed only isolated fasciculations, NVC was just fine.At this point, the ALS specialist was free to give me a report of BFS, but he wanted to see me on regular base.A few days ago, I met him (almost 8 months after the last EMG), he said everything still fine, he also mentioned that in summer my knee reflexes were a bit brisk but within the normal range, but now they are just fine...
