Hi im Milly and im new to this site :) This is a brief summary of what has been going on with me!! I have had twitches for the last 8 months :( after having some real stessful events in my life i went to my GP with a number of symptoms Gagging, twitching, sore muscles, fatigue, insomnia, tremors, body jerks i was so scared and very unwell and dreading the worse im a wife and mum and the fear consumed me,My GP said that my symptoms were stress and anxiety related and stuck me on some antidepressants............Which did nothing!! When i returned to see him three weeks later and was no better he advised me that he was going to send me to a neurologist which only added to my fear but i needed to know what was going on with my body,I waited four weeks for my appointment had a clean clinical exam apart fron brisk knee reflexes but neurologist told me that was quite normal for young ladies to have brisk reflexes :) and she herself had brisk knee relexes. For my peace of mind she contined to give me full blood tests Cpk.....muscle enzyme test,ANA test, vitamin B12,magnesium,electrolytes,and many more the list is endless but all relevant all clear along with a clear MRI and EMG.Still symptomatic and neurologist agreed with my GP .......Stress and Anxiety!!!The neurologist that did my EMG said he thought this could be BFS so i really am  .....I like so many on here cant help but think there must be something more to it than that and drive myself crazy with thoughts of the worse my twitches seem settled mainy in my feet everyday is that possible with BFS ? Ive read on here about people talking about hotspots. Is it possible for BFS to make you feel so unwell ? thats what i cant seem to get my head around wasnt given much info from the neurologist about it!!If anyone can help i would be so grateful.Just want to feel my ole self again......if i can remember how that feels been so long!!Many Thanks Milly :D)

Hi Milly,Welcome to this site. I think you've found the right place to vent about your symptoms -- a place where we can all relate to you. It's very hard to imagine, even after a clean EMG, that this is "normal" or "benign". I've been twitching for a couple of months now, and had a clean EMG, but it still bothers me on a daily basis when I twitch.I think you'll find many members on this board who have been twitching for years, and they are very helpful and supportive.Hang in there - I'm sorry about your stressful events, I hope everything is okay.!!Mitra

Hi and welcome...all of your symptoms you listed are completely BFS with maybe some anxiety thrown in to boot, but thats expected while you are getting used to the new you...I know its very hard to think of these symptoms as benign, but thats what they label anything that is not causing real damage...and these symptoms, as uncomfortable as they are...are not causing any real physical damage...but it does damage us a bit mentally and or emotionally to have a condition that is labeled as benign when it can be so over whelming to deal with...You will get to that place though trust me....I had all of your symptoms, plus a few more, I was a complete mess...and I am doing so much better these days....my feet still twitch alot, I still have random hitters, my feet still buzz on occasion...but over all...these symptoms are much more manageable these days and my anxiety for the most part is way down..so there is light at the end of the tunnel...you just have to believe us and your doctors and stop blaming your symptoms on a neuro nasty and you will see that things will begin to improve greatly...but if you continue to think that your symptoms are all signs of something more sinister...then you are in for a long ride if you know what I'm saying...Please post for reassurance as much as you like....and take careRobynn :D)

Hi milly and welcome....sounds exactly like bfs to me too.....anxiety and stress are terrible things aren't they? They can make u believe anything....I'm nearly 5 months into this and I can still have a bad day with all of this...it takes time to get used to this twitching it feels very un natural doesn't it...as for the feet...read any of my old posts I am a foot twitcher...90% of my twitching is in my feet the rest is calves then random ones, though I do get hotspots sometimes, so don't stress too much about your feet..perfectly normal for bfs.....and and as mommyLDN said buzzing, vibrating is very common too..so please dont worry...it will only make twitch more too.... :) ...best wishes shannon
