hi Bavarian
I had my first neurologist appointment last week. Was quite simple actually. He tested all my reflexes (to the point that I think he was hammer-happy and likely watches too many home reno TV shows). He had me walk across the floor on my tiptoes then on my heels. He tested the strength of my hands in various ways. He did a lot of looking in and around my eyes, making me look every which way. He did some sensation tests on my feet and toes with a tuning-fork like thing.
He then said you likely have Benign Fasciculation Syndrome (see my recent post here in the Support section entitled "new here and thankful"). He sent me down to the lab for some bloodwork (from the orders, I saw he was checking creatine, sodium, choride perhaps, and a couple other things). And, he scheduled an EMG for me coming up in a couple weeks.
All in all it was reasonably pleasant, non-invasive, and relieving!
So, I suggest just walking in with a smile on your face! Much less troublesome than the dentist's drill by far
