Neuro Appointment: Anxiety & Symptoms

My neuro appointment has finally arrived. Its this week. Im more anxious than I have ever been.My swallowing is getting harder and harder. Its been 2 days that my tongue hurts like when a muscle is tired. The twitching on my left leg is out of control. Its a good thing that I am on 75mg of Zoloft and use Ativan to sleep. My poor wife cannot take it anymore.According to your own experiences with neurologist appointments...Does anybody know if the neurologist may be able to calm me down with one visit? Or will it make things worst. ( like him saying that you need other appointments and tests to see , I cannot tell you anything today).

If I recall you've been they the whole neuro process with tests, correct? If so I think he will be able to calm you down on this visit! And if you haven't, yes he can still calm you down at the first visit. Your symptoms are just like so many here. Anxiety does a number on our physical bodies.

Also I don't believe w *** you have symptoms in leg and tongue at once. It's one or the other for a while. That certainly was my late husbands story. All limbs first, other symptoms much later. Try to relax if possible.

Nooooo! That was supposed to calm you not scare you! The legs and tongue don't start within a few months of each other! One would be the beginning the other towards the end! I'm sorry that was misunderstood! You will be ok!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh ok ! I know you don't mean to scare me or cause more anxiety. Its me . I'm just too scared and nervous. I wish I could wake up tomorrow and have a complete memory loss of the last 4 months. Its been so hard. I don't look at the symptoms on-line anymore. I feel like I bring them on one by one. I now have 3 or 4 of the symptoms and Im stopping there.I hope I will be ok.

Based on my experience Ativan can cause all kinds of weird symptoms. I would be very careful with that drug. I am down to 0.15 mg a day and hope to be off by January or February. I am so sensitive I need to do a liquid taper and reduce 0.05 mg at a time. I really feel it when it's time to cut my dosage by just 0.05 mg. One of my neuros said that the Ativan is likely putting gasoline on the fire with me and I need to be off of it. But everyone is different. The most likely thing that will happen from your neuro visit is that he will do a bunch of reflex and strength tests and tell you that you are fine. I hope it goes well for you and you can find some peace.

Secretagentman,I will definitely try it. I would take the meditation and natural way anytime over chemicals and drugs. If all goes well at the neuro ( which I am praying for), I will take your advce. Thank you sooooooooooooo much ! Peace and health!
