Nervous About Neuro Appointment Tomorrow

Tomorrow is my neuro appointment at 1 PM. I am getting pretty nervous about it. I still haven’t received my bloodwork results from my GP. I called them yesterday and spoke to the office assistant. She said my results are in my GP’s office, but he wants to call me and talk about them. He just hasn’t had the time to, because he is so busy with patients. That scares me a bit. Hopefully he will contact me today.

This morning I had a horrible twitch right above my right knee cap. In addition, I had this numb patch right below my right shoulder blade in the middle of my back. My arm still feels weak, and is really scaring me. Things still feel heavier in my right arm than my left!

Can anyone provide reassurance to get me through today? I have had many provide reassurance through the last 50 days, but I am having a bad day and am nervous about my neuro appt. tomorrow. I am worried that my GP might be missing something!!!

I am also worried that my elevated liver enzymes mean that there is muscle damage going on!

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

Tony

Hey Tony,

Just relax. Tomorrow at about 3:00 your time, you will be on cloud nine. Everything is going to look better in tomorrows light. You have to trust what the docs tell you though. They are the wise ones with all the medical schooling not us.

I can't wait to see your post then I expect you to take your lovely new wife out to a nice dinner. You owe her!!

Take care, it's only hours away.

Your Fine!!

Tony, chill :). Most of us, including myself, have had the thumper above the kneecap that you are referring to. You just notice that one alot because that is a big muscle. Also, i have that weird feeling below my shoulder blade often -- altho it is sometimes more of a burning, aching sensation. At any rate, don't get yourself all worked up! And when you get to the neuro, LISTEN to what he tells you. If he says you are fine, then BELIEVE it. By the way, how old did you say you were?

Take a deeeeeep breath. You are going to do fine.

JUST a suggestion... act as calm as possible in the neuro's office. I learned after my first visit- when you let your emotions show the first thing they want to tackle is the anxiety issue- even if the chicken came first ooooor was it the egg??? I'm still trying to figure that one out.

I wish you the best of luck. Good vibes sent your way!

Looking forward to hear your good news. I can relate to the worry though. As I was going to my neuro appt yesterday I felt sick to my stomach with nerves.
Take care, Mary

Arrigoar:

You're not drivingme crazy- I've been where you're at and sometimes I even revisit the "dark places". "I feel your pain"- that was a joke so SMILE :D)

Keep your chin up, you have less than 24 hours until your appointment.

Josh that was very rude. :crying:

If you were even a half as worried as he seems to be you would be going crazy too.

I realize it's hard to get through but it will happen but not by forcing him with harsh comments.

Tony listen to Suzi she is incredibly wise. You are googling way too much. At least, if you do nothing else let that be your first step don't google one more symptom. Do not look at ALS sites just come here. You can always pm if you feel the need.

Relax a little. Drink a glass of red wine or have beer, heck have shot just to keep you calm till tomorrow.

Carri :D)

We have all been to the point of sheer panic at some point and time with this disorder. Read some of my old posts and you'll get the picture. This is a great site to get some help, advice, support or just a good laugh sometimes. Be sure to tell us all how it went as soon as you can.
Take care
