Navigating Anxiety After Normal Neuro Exams

Dande,

Remember [/b]Two Normal Neuro Exams.

I know the feeling, as I am going through similar anxiety.

It didn't bother me for the longest time, the calves got worse, and my anxiety level went through the roof.

Again, you had two normal exams. Keep that in your mind.

You are experiencing the carpal pedal spasm. As the muscle spasms, the skin crinkles. Normal. I've had it many times. In fact, that is the location where my BFS started 4 years ago!!!

I was just doing something this morning and I'd like to share with everyone. I was thinking that it's easy for any of us (probably everyone period) to go to the dark place of fear. Fear is enticing. It consumes us - we can't, won't do anything else except attend to the demands of the fear. Fear is NOT truth. AND fear is NOT our lives. There's a beautiful planet, beautiful people..our breath. We can all breathe. What a gift!
I was in that place early this morning and I just stopped what I was doing and layed down on the floor. Melted into it. I just breathed deep. I felt my entire body and mind relax. I stayed like that for about 15 minutes. Just breathed. Nothing to it. Changed my whole day.
I think I would love to see a whole area full of techniques that work for people. Things that allow relaxation and let them live life so much more fully.
There's a lot at our fingertips that we could do. As a sidebar - relaxation allows the body to heal itself.
Just an idea to throw around to y'all.
Take care,
Mark

Mark, I'm so impressed with your ability to relax. I think much of the BFS is brought on because we're all Type A personalities, high anxiety etc. I just signed up for a meditation class so I can learn how to stop for 15 minutes. I think you're right, if we could all just stop and give ourselves 15 minutes of uninterupted relaxation and positive thoughts, it might help. Thanks. Val

Dande5, I have had the same pinky thing happen to me. Mine was on the left hand, and went from my wrist to tip of pinky. It would just do it's thing. It lasted for 2 weeks and I felt it constantly daily. Then one day it was gone. Just another crazy thing to think about!
