Mysterious Muscle Tightening: Help?

Does anyone else have this thing where certain muscles like on your forearm or maybe somwhere in a foot or your face even, where the muscle just starts to tighten?? I dont get any pain with it at all when it happens, but its just random muscles every so often. Is this a cramp without pain or is it just another form of a twitch?? Like I said, no pain, just strange tightning at random. It only last for a few seconds and can be rubbed away and then its gone. I get them in my face and feet sometimes. And in my arm occasionally. Anyone know what it is or is it more reason for concern in the ALS department?? Hope someone would know something about this. Thanks so much.P.S. oh ya, I get them rather frequently in my left wrist and in my right hand also. Just wanted to add that.

I get that tight feeling in my face all the time. And in my arms and legs it feels like a heaviness or pressure.For years I never knew those feeling were caused from BFS until I found this forum.

Guess in a way I'm lucky. Because my whole ordeal started before the internet was a big deal. Or else I would have thought I had YOU KNOW WHAT also. But you what even then it never ever crossed my mind that it could the something serious I mean it's not painful just worrisome.

I have had that happen to me too. Have a look at RainDog's recent video of his calf. About half way though he gets this marked contraction of part of his calf. This is exactly what happens to me sometimes too and I suspect that this is what you are referring to in your post.RegardsSimon

Ya it keeps feeling like something is freazing up on me, if you know what i mean, its really hard to describe. It doesnt feel like a heaviness though.

I get these all the time usually in my arm or shoulder, sometimes in my thigh or calf, right now I've been getting it in my chest muscle.Mary

Yeh, I get this,sometimes progresses into a type of cramp, sometimes not. Feet and legs. Sometimes after sitting for a while, sometimes for no apparent reason..but that is BFS- 'no rhyme nor reason'.cheersRodger

I get something similar too - it will feel like the muscle is tensing for no reason. I also have a lot of aching in my forearm, wrist, and hand - that bothers me b/c I also have fine hand/finger tremor and the sensation of internal tremor where I feel like I'm going to develop a resting tremor. Does anyone have the achiness along with the tense muscle?

Yes WWMM, I cant say for sure that the muscle that tenses for a few seconds actually aches, but the I do get a descent amount of aching in my hands and wrist and they feel tight sometimes when they ache. Sometimes my hand swells or feels like its puffy. But my husband always says he cant see a difference.

i get that too, mostly on my chin and sometimes forearms, strage feeling but part of bfs for me...
