Mysterious Hand Movement/Twitch

So this morning driving to work, my index finger on my right hand started moving back and forth very quickly for several seconds. This has been going on for about an hour or so. Anyone have this? I don't know if its a twitch, tremor, or what. It makes me nervous though. Also, I have noticed that I have a hard time relaxing my muscles. I feel like my arms and hands are so stiff, and if I try to relax them I have to really concentrate. I know I didn't have either of these during my last flair up a few years ago. Please someone respond! Thanks!

Thank you for the utube video Matt. Yes that is what my finger looks like. But I'm so stupid and went ahead and googled Parkinson's disease, so now I've diagnosed myself with that:( I wonder if the muscle tension I feel in my hands and arms is really muscle rigidity like in Parkinson's. I did read that Parkinsons can cause twitches. I didn't know that. This is crazy stuff:( Matt--my index finger and thumb on my left hand started the tremors or whatever they are a few weeks ago, then it stopped for awhile and is now in my rt index finger. Have you ever had where it switches sides likethat? Also my lip has been twitching, which I read was another sign of Parkinsons. UGGGGHHHH.....why do I do this to myself:(

Dosigirl,Yes, it switches sides on me all the time. If your fingers look like my video, that is NOT a tremor. That is simply a twitch in your hand that makes your fingers move. It doesn't surprise me that you noticed it while driving. Resting my arms on my desk, or a table, or a steering wheel commonly triggers this type of twitch. This all sounds like BFS to me.-Matt

I have had my fingers do their little dance during various times, such as while typing on the computer or texting on my phone. Every now and then it will get going and not stop for an hour or so. Sometimes I get aggravated when I can't type right for all the finger shenanigans. As for the lip twitching, that was my first facial twitch back in September of last year and the one that acts up the most when I get facial twitching. I don't have Parkinsons and neither do you. I know it's scary but it's so common in BFS.Frances

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've just never had this before so it is freaking me out a bit. It does it whether my hand/fingers are relaxed or in use. So I don't know. Its very quick as well, not exactly like yours Mark. It just moves back and forth for about 8 seconds non-stop. If i try to move them or hold on to them it continues. Its been going on all day.

This is a new symptom for me as well, about 2 weeks in. Mine actually happen more when my fingers and toes are at rest. They move kind of quickly and usually just once at a time. The other day my thumb moved on it's own for about a minute. It's been freaky but nothing more than a pain in the *beep*.

Thanks guys for the responses! I'm a little more calm now, especially after watching that girls hands on you tube ( thanks Matt)!! My husband says this happens to him once in awhile and he doesn't have BFS. So hopefully it's just benign thing that goes away soon!!

My finger has done that exact same thing, was like that for 2 days. Creeped me OUT. My lip twitched for 2 weeks!! ANNOYING. It was my upper lip for what seemed like a week or so then to my cheek. Those ones are like non-stop, they have no rest period. It was a phase & now it's gone! (For now!) don't let it stress you!
