Myoclonus: Day Vs. Night

i get the jolt ones in my forarms and fingers too. I'm currently on nerontin 300 mg a day it has taken the edge off the twitching with no side effects. Ask you doc if it might help you.

Good luck,

Chris

Mark, I've had problems with my hands and arms from the beginning. Fingers, hand muscles moving, twitching, jerking and those jolts to. I take clonzepam also at night before bed and yes it helps alot.

Mark,

I am so sorry that you have had such a bad week, I remember it sooo well and it was about my hands but like I said I promise it will get better. I know this is hard but you must try to let this go and not stare at your hands all day and not keep testing them. I know you are doing this because I did it 24-7. Don't think about any of it anymore, don't watch for it, don't think about it. Of course I know this is very hard but it is and can be learned behavior, start now.

I know you are probably saying to yourself that maybe I don't have the same thing as you and maybe I mean something diff. then you- NO - I know exactly what you are describing and I do have it. I only say this to you because I always say that people on here might not know what I mean or I might not be describing the symptoms right. Please dont worry anymore about this ----NOW----GET YOUR BUTT MOVING TODAY AND DONT THINK ABOUT THIS, HAVE FUN, ENJOY LIFE AND TELL YOURSELF TODAY THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH ME!!!!! ;) I promise I promise I promise nothing is wrong with you.....Bigggg Hugsssss and if you need to vent I am here...God Bless...Jenn

hey mark,

i don't realy use the boards much anymore these days, but when i saw your topic title i thought i should reply. at the start of my twitching, i had a spell with jolts that really freaked me out too. i had them in my arms and legs, and when i was drifting off to sleep at night my whole body would sometimes jolt. they can be really scary but i learned quickly that they're perfectly normal and probably a lot more common than you think - my gp even said that she too sometimes jerks and jolts as she lies in bed and they annoy the hell out of her! just remember that they are absolutely nothing to fret over, that your just in the same (very, very big) boat as all of us, and they'll eventualy calm down. once your not anxious about them anymore, they'll disappear, honest.

have a great day,

mart.

Once again, thanks for your replies. I am trying to ignore my shaky hands and tremoring fingers but it is difficult. Very difficult. I will do my best today. The mornings are particularly hard - I am a smoker and when I have my first cigarette in the morning, my whole body just seems to shake (time to quit, I know). I will carry on and try to control the anxiety, hopefully today will be a better day.

Thanks again,
God Bless, Mark
