Hi everybody.I am twitcher bfs since 1 year. One amazing thing happened in my personal life recently. My wife, who is not a very anxious lady, totally normal b4,started twitching starting from below lower eye lid area for 15 to20 days then spreading allover. However, the frequency of fascics is 10to 15/day.She also has some sensory complaints and started to develop mild cramping in arms, shoulder and thighs after some heavy exertion. There is no clinical weakness n atrophy. This is a very big surprise 4 me.No other member[even very distant] of my family had this problem B4.I used to tell my wife each n every symtom of mine,i used to show her my fascics. My questions r 1-how many of u noted such -one of the spouse getting first then another partener is GIFTED with this stuff.2-Exactly 1 year ago in last winter i started twitching and in the same month this year, more or less, wife started .Is there any association with SEASON[both started fasciculating in chilly winter nov.].3-Is it possible that this stuff gets transmitted sexually?4-whether she needs medical workup? Thanks for replies in advance........takecare........baily.

Hi baily, sorry that your wife is showing signs of this as well. My husband started with the same symptoms as me last February of this year. My symptoms have been longer lasting and more intense then his but regardless he was reporting the same type stuff, muscle twitches, muscles that tighten up randomly, feeling nervous (not about the twitches) just feeling nervous in general, stomach issues, and painful legs (RLS symptoms), and tremors. I have had more sensory issues then him, although hubby has remarked about tingling in his legs on several occasions. This situation is weird with this stuff, hubby gets more hot spots with a twitch that will come and last for days in one spot, then show up somewhere else some time later, his legs hurt and feel crampy everyday but much worse after he has been at work all day. I dont really know what to make out of all of this as there are several people on here with spouses and they dont have this, but there have been some that have reported there spouse had it first or they started about the same time. What to make of it...I dont really know, I hadnt really looked at it like its contagious, since hubby and I started at the same time I just assumed we must have caught the same virus  Thats all I got on this one, sorry I dont have any better of a theory.Take care bailyRobynn :D)

I know of a old poster on here who I keep in touch with who's husband has BFS also. I often wonder if maybe this comes from a virus both husband and wife both had the same thing that brought it on. Just a theory.

Baily... snap.she is still twitching.not as bad as me but defo twitching(she doesnt care at ALL) her eyelid has been going now for 3days straight.viral?sexually transmitted?I hope not iv been with my partner for 5yrs and I HAVE BEEN FAITHFUL!!!!!!!weird though.laters.

Thanx Robynn,Barbie,Darr and Rodger for your quick responces. After about 1 yr of myself suffering with bfs, wife started twitching recently since last 1 month. She didnt had any viral infection before developing fascics but she was much worried seeing me in sometimes sad/anxious mood just sitting with laptop for hours googling in net.Recently both of us were under stress as one of our close relative was diagnosed with cancer breast. Can it b long standing stress/anxiety,as said by Rodger in one of his posts, which is causing this stuff in her ??Another theory i am suspecting is infectious ie.initially b4 starting bfs in me i had long attack[lasting1 month] of upper respiratory infection.Probably same viruses have affected nervous system causing bfs n got transmitted to my wife now,can it b the possibility?................I WILL wellcome more thoughts, both from twitching as well as non twitching couples [i mean where one of the spouse is affected] over this issue as it is causing me much distress nowadays.Thanx for listening and thanx for replies in ADVANCE...........takecare everybody.......baily.

Was it SuzieQ?? I know her and her husband both had or have it.I dont care if the twitching hangs around, just wondering if the sensory stuff ever goes away.
