My Twitching Journey Begins

For me I got myself worked up about a brain tumor a year ago and after that episode my twitching started, wasn't really concerned about the twitching until about 4 months ago when I was under great stress on my legs at work and developed a hot spot on my inner thigh muscle. Googled it and BAM I have been popping all over the place since, and when my stress and anxiety is down it tends to be much milder. However I wanted to question all of you out there to see If I twitch much more often than most. I dont feel twitching all the time but it is pretty constant throughout the days in my thighs, feet, calves, shoulders and forearms just popping, rippling all over. Does anyone else have this happening almost constantly because it is kind of freaking me out, the frequency of my fascics?

Hi there,I think that the symptoms you describe are classic BFS which in my case gets worse when I am anxious. I have had periods in the past when I have been twitching constantly for weeks. It grinds you down if you let it. My consultant neuro diagnosed me with BFS a few years ago. My advice would be try not to worry and try to relax, easy said than done I know, but if you can the symptoms will often subside slightly and if you are lucky to a point whereby you may hardly notice them. Good luckNicko

I totally agree, the only thing that really ever bothers me is if I get a hotspot that twitches off and on for days, weeks, etc. I am used to the pop and go and understand that our muscles will pop at random times and that doesn't bother me so.. I thought I was finally getting over this until I spotted a very fine shoulder twitch that has not subsided for 3 days and I rarely even feel the twitch there, it can just be seen and it reminded me of a youtube video I had found for MND. I am sure I am fine due to no weakness but would be much better if the hotspots would stop.

Hey there- I sent ya a PM I dont know if you got it or not...but HOTSPOTS happen. I myself RARELY get them KNOCK ON WOOD because It would drive me INSANE BUT that being said...last night I had a twitch above my knee that lasted for a pretty good amount of time. It was a bubbly vibration type twitch- HOWEVER.....when I flexed it, stood up, etc it went away.Key word w/ what you say though- You got the RANDOM JUMPERS here and there- "Hit N Runs" I call them which make your con'd anything BUT sinister. Your whole neurological system doesnt just flush @ once this neuro once told me. Its a segmental fashion.Your questions about EMG. Go ahead and get one. Promise yourself tho- And I say this because I learned the hard way- GET IT, BELIEVE IT. . . and GET LOST. Dont waste another minute on this site or ANY other "SITE". Know what I mean? Its hard to let this site go- As you can see. I've packed my bags numerous times to leave HOWEVER...you see ONE POST or ONE TROLL post something that is TOTALLY OUT OF CONTEXT and you might as well call your insurance company, your neuro and your bank to cancel your co pay BECAUSE your visit WAS A WASTE OF TIME. (mentally). These NEURO's KNOW their business. Mine has ALS patients- she said she is RELIEVED when she can look someone straight in the eyes and put her hand on their shoulder and smile and say "Your fine, its Benign!".... ;) Your young- Get that EMG and get out and start living!!!! Lovely

No twitching for days except very mild "popcorn effect" in my legs constantly. Every now and then one-two large twitch in my abdomen area. Magnesium intake on daily basis is crucial for my improvement.

I twitch constantly all day all over but especially in my tongue, arches, calves and biceps. For the past three months I have been trying to count to 10 without feeling a twitch and have not been able to do it (but I did get to 8 or 9 a few times). Now I cannot count to three without one. Which means there is not more than one or two seconds in the entire day when I do NOT feel a twitch.Does that make you feel better?? :p Karen
