Funny that you should mention magnesium. Just last night I started a combination magnesium/calcium/zinc tablet thinking that this might help, given what I have read now about nerve function and some of the postings here by folks who have tried it. I took it again this morning and will probably keep to twice a day for now. I have had a "hot spot" (nearly constant twitching) in my right calf for several days that was noticable even before I would get out of bed in the morning. I know it could be a placebo effect or just the random change in symptom pattern noticable with this syndrome but I've had MINIMAL twitching anywhere, especially in the right calf today. Still have the high-pitched ringing in my ears though. Ugh. Anyway, I'll keep to the new regimen barring any negative results and let you all know how it goes. So far, so good.
Midarine, you sound just like the rest of us here...don't you think so? The best thing you can do for yourself is accept the benign diagnosis as "fact" and start taking care of the anxiety. If you don't talk to someone already, find a good therapist to help you manage the anxiety or ask your MD for a benzo which can help with mood. Best option is to do BOTH. Look into things like yoga, tai chi, meditation. Take walks and breathe slowly and deeply. Laugh alot. Get regular massages. Avoid caffeine. Be gentle with yourself.
