My Ring Finger Shaking Uncontrollably

Ok, so, I realize that this sounds ridiculous - but lately I have been having some major funky feelings in my hands and fingers (see my other posts, pretty pathetic :) )Anyhoo, When I close my hand into a fist and reopen it, my ring finger shakes back and forth uncontrollably. Nothing is twitching there though - not the hand, not the wrist, elbow, nothing -- so why in the world is my finger shaking back and forth every time I open it? The rest of my fingers are shakey and stuff, and I've started twitching a little between my finger and thumb, but this ring finger doing it's own jig for no reason is really freaking me out.Brandy

Not sure, but my ring finger in my right hand used to do that to. It stopped after a few months. Never did figure out what it was. Not really sure it had anything to do with BFS.

Does this happen to both of your hands or only one? one more than another? For me making a fist does not invoke it but pointing does. I showed it to a neuro, and they did not seem the least bit interested in it, and called it a psychogenic tremor. It comes and goes for me, mostly comes though.

sounds like a circulation thing... maybe when you make a fist your blood flow is compromised causing miscommunciation between your brain and nerves and causes your finger to twitch side to side.

I have had the hand shaking thing involving both hands when I first started having symptoms over 5 years ago. I would get them when I was through running especially on hot days. It would involve my middle, ring and pinky fingers and they would kind of shake violently for a short time. It really freaked me out. I had to stop running shortly after that because the muscle stiffness in my hamstrings was and continues to be a major problem. The finger shaking thing though went away and for the most part I have not had the problem anymore.Swift_TaySwift20
