My Report Disappeared - Need Help

I thought I posted this but it seems to have disappeared...Ok, well nothing thorough has come back to...basically the doctor got my report loosely translated by a Chinese colleague [i live in beijing and the report has been sent to hong kong for a neurological specialist to translate].So far from what he has read, it says everything is normal bar something to do with muscle sensitivity or something along those lines? Does anyone have any idea to what this might refer and in the mean time while I await the full english report should I rest assured, as the doctor said on the phone anything to do with motor neurons seem fine.Does anyone know if this could be a classic reference to just picking up fasciculations...as in classic BFS or perhaps another muscle disease it could be indicative of??Thanks so much!

OK as doctor said your motor neurones are Ok - then you may be easy about any neurodegenerative diseases.

Thanks!i just dont know anything about EMGs- I know what they are required to pick up to detect ALS...But this vague reference to sensitivity didn't correlate to anything I have read about EMG testing...so I'm hoping it just means that my legs have recorded more fasciculations than normal...hence abnormal sensitivity and that it can be classed as BFS.Just annoying that it's the weekend now so it will probably be next week sometime with the full report.

I know this is hard, but just wait.Stop looking things up. It's going to cause you more worry than necessary.It isn't ALS -- i was confident before, and I am positive now. So that should be a huge relief.You don't and will never understand the EMG's = You are NOT a doctor.Be patient, youre more than halfway to a resolution.

Yea I know...just anxiously waiting...It's almost harder having heard a rough translation, especially as mandarin to english and vice versa, is very hard...there are like 20 words for one thing in mandarin.But I am hoping, since this morning, my arm was the most noticeably spasming etc...that it can't be ALS, as it doesn't typically present with such wide ranging fasciculations, and that in general, the "sensitivity" abnormality can be linked to irritated nerves or something.I will let you all know the break down of the EMG as soon as I get it...in the mean time...I can go back to battling the 400+ Air Quality index engulfing Beijing for the past 4 days- gross!

One more thing...I only had the EMG in my left calf as this is where the twitching is localised...they did a slight comparison with the right calf...will this be accurate to determine any motor neuron damage? I had waited just over a month since the twitching began and having this EMG.Also, I keep noticing my left thigh won't stop twitching now either...basically, left leg from sole of foot to groin is constantly twitching...and like I also said, there is a slight size difference which is most noticeable at the top of the thighs, where it measures 2 cm smaller on the left.I've also been having more twitching around my shoulders, biceps and pectoral muscles today...should this be reassuring, or worrying?Thank you all so much

you already know the answer -- you have been to the ALS forums and you have been here.body wide twitching is not necessarily an indicator of ALS.You have no clinical loss of strength. Nothing glaring showed up on the EMG -- stop hunting for ALS - you do not want it.Learn to relax, handle your stress, and your twitches (while may not disappear) should lessen.
