My BFS/BCFS Waxing and Waning

Skip

My BFS/BCFS waxes and wanes all day long.

I stated with all over body twitching. I have had tremors, vibrating, buzzing, pins and needles, cramps, tired and ahcy, TWITICHING!!!! and nueropathic pain.

The above come and go in various places on my body anywhere for few days, to a few minutes.

I tired Nuerontin -- it did not work out for me. Got up to 4 a day. Tapered off over 10 days.

Lyrica -- This worked exceptionally well for me for neuropathic pain.

My experience: Out of nowhere, 3 months into BFS, I had crippling, stabbing, burining, liquid-poison like feelings of intense pain that came and went in symmetrical waves. It is 95% always in my quads. After neurontin did not work, I got up to 3 pills a day of Lyrica and the pain was totally gone!!!! I was on for about 5 weeks total...from the begining to the tapering off.

About 4+ weeks went by and now the pain is back (been 2 weeks or so) and so I am going to start back up.

Klonopin -- had 10 pills. First 3, 1 at night, every 3rd night, helped me sleep, but left me dragging to get out of bed in the morning. Plus, I would get a MASSIVE sleepy feeling around between 11 am - 2pm each day.

I then took it 5 nights in a row. Massive sleepy feeling went away, and for me, I will say that overall, things slightly imporved....I felt less anxious, less twithces, cramping was reduced....just felt better.

Unfortuneatley, people here and docs will tell you, Klonopin is addictive, and its efficacy wanes with repeated use. Your mileage may very.

Requip -- never tried.

Mikey, you are the 2nd person (12Drifter12) to state that Lyrica does a better job than Neurontin, even though they are similar drugs.

I may have to look into this.

My local doctors discouraged me from a Trileptal/Lamictal type drug and a Lyrica/Neurontin type drug at the same time, due to side effect build up.

Yet, like Stevepaul, I forsee myself over the next 12-18 months truly trying everything until my pain is lower (including a combination like Stevepaul). It will take patience. It will also take good doctors to work with me and not assume I am nuts.

edit: I should add that nothing has made me drowsy at all yet...I may have good tolerance for the drowsiness thing.
