My 16-Year Journey with Twitching

Hi.This is my first post here, after lurking for a few months.I first started twitching about 16 years ago. The twitching subsided, then came back around 6 years ago, subsided again, and now it's back again.I saw neurologists the first two times and both, after doing clinical exams, said that I was experiencing benign fasciculations and there was nothing to worry about. I did not have an EMG either time. Now the twitching is back, and I am worrying again . . . which is why I've come here.I plan to post my symptom details in the Support Group section soon, but since I often plan to do so and end up busy with something else, I just wanted to take this time to introduce myself and say "Hello" to all of you. If I post this, maybe it will encourage me to finally sit down and post my concerns. In the months that I've been lurking, I've enjoyed many of your posts and many, many a time, you have calmed me down. I would like to thank all of you for that (even though I am still a bit scared). So, "Hello, everyone!"

Welcome. After 16 years--you are probably golden. I take it you are not debilitated in any way and that is encouraging for all of us. I look forward to hearing more of your story.

Your experience of remissions is so encouraging. I too look forward to hearing more of your story and am glad this board has been helpful to you.

16 years! I, too, am looking forward to reading about your trip down the BFS path of life! Assuming you haven't got weak, then no worries! (easy to say ;) ). Anyway, welcome to the site and, as Krackersones says, you may be giving us hope for remissions in the future.

HI and welcome to the siteYoru description of fasciculation which has relapsed and remitted over many years, since a young age, sounds like benign fasciculation to me, especially the absence of any other worrying symptoms. I am sure you will be just fine.RegardsSimon
