Muscular Fasiculations: Seeking Help

Hi,

This is my first ever posting on this site....just wondering if anyone could offer some suggestions. I have had fasiculations of the muscles for the last 1.5 years. Like most other people symptoms they are mainly focused around the calves, sometimes feet and just above the knee. I have also had them in just about evey muscle in my body - but never too persistant. I've had blood test and my Neurologist can offer no explanation except that I have no MS or critical illness.

One thing that I have noticed is that I'm pretty sure that my symptoms get worse with alcohol. This seems to make the fasciulations worse and the muscles ache in my calves. I don't know whether this is the cause or exagerates the symptoms. I have looked all over the web for alcohol related fasiculations and the only examples point to alcohol abuse in alcoholics.

I was wondering whether anyone had anything similar or had any advise. I know that stopping drinking completely maybe a response, but how can even a small level of alcohol cause this?

Thanks

AP

Yes, a night of drinking will surely make the twitches worse the next day. They do seem to go away while drinking, though. :)

Many benign twitchers will report Alcohol makes symtoms worse.

Very common.
