Muscle Twitches Medication: Pros/Cons

Hi all. I am just wondering what medication works best for muscle twitches. I have heard that klonopin is good, but I dont know much about the drug. Does anyone know of any drugs that help that dont have many bad side effects? Thanks for your help.

Hi Jen,

I took Klonopin for a few months, but I recently discontinued. My neuro told me that I basically had to learn to deal with it because there was no effective treatment.

I could have continued with the medication, but I didn't want to depend on it.

P.S. I had no side effects and I slept great!!

I took Klonopin (Rivotril in Europe) twice in last 12 months.
No side effects. Also no improvement with twitching problem and I quit with the drugs except Mg, vit. E, Omega 3 and Cat's Claw. Still twitching specially eyelids, calves and right biceps; all of it 24/7. "Popcorn" effect in the legs.
Mark 13,5 months.

i just started PROPRANOLOL last friday which is a beta blocker. i take a low dose but ive seen great improvements in my BFS symptoms. i also take klonopin at night. im working up to a higher dose of the beta blocker because it seems to help more with BFS than klonopin

Right upper eyelid twitches constantly; lower eyelids & left upper eyelid occasionally. It lasted almost 6 months.
Problems were starting last year in March with right upper eyelid twitching.
