Muscle Tremors and Pulsing Hands

Well it has been some time since I posted here.Over the last few weeks, I have noticed that my muscles "tremor" or shake more than twitch. They still twitch, but more often it is more of a tremor. My left hand feels like it is pulsing or buzzing. I have noticed a definite intentional tremor in my hands and legs.I am pretty sure that I do not have ALS as I have no real atrophy or weakness. My concern is more MS.I have constant pain in my legs, calves, hips etc. The most annoying thing is the twitching in my buttocks...this is very wierd ;-(((I have started taking magnesium citrate, about 600mg daily. I have just had blood tests and the doc has asked for a magnesium level on the results so will find out on Friday next.My hands also feel very stiff when I wake but they ease off after a couple of minutes. Can anyone else relate to these symptoms?

I have had all of the symptoms you listed and then some over for years. A few years ago the finger stiffness in the mornings started, as did my feet. Both things have improved but will come back for days or weeks at a time, then get better again. I've had MS concerns as well. Over the years my "clinical exams" have been normal and a good neuro is suppose to pick up MS "indicators" on your clinical exam. I've had several MRI's over the years, most often for specific symptoms, i.e. severe dizziness, a dilated pupil that wouldn't contract (it went away after several hours), and most recently, severe lightheadedness. My MRI's were always normal, no MS. It sounds like you have BFS. I know it's hard to believe that it can cause all of these symtoms, but it can. Keep us informed. Best Wishes, Denise. p.s. I was 100% convinced that I had a mild form of MS for several years and spoke to many people with it. Although I don't want to sound like I'm minimizing MS, most people who I spoke to had it for years and fortunately, were never seriously impaired. If it makes you feel better get an MRI---but I'm sure it will be normal. Denise

Hi all, add me to the list of people concerned about MS. My twitching is almost gone. I don't know why?? But, my left foot is buzzing...the internal vibration.. and my muscles in my arms and shouldrt are so achey. I am going to give it a few more months and then revisit the doc if things don't improve. Makes me feel better that I am not alone with these symptoms though. I stained our deck this weekend, put roundup on weeds back by our pond, and worked on training our new puppy. I am beat, but I do not feel weak as one would with **S. I just feel achey and "buzzy". I hate this. Anyone else vibrating? I feel like I have a cell phone vibrating on my foot.Linda

Linda,I've "vibrated" for over 30 years. It's been one of my major symptoms. It really no longer bothers or worries me. Take Care. Denise

Hi Denise, thanks for the reassurance about the vibrating. I still think mine is somehow related to my autoimmune thyroid disease. It is all so annoying. I was crying this morning. It just gets to me sometimes...the weird sensations.Linda

I was told by a doctor, and I read someone else post a similar message, that the vibration feeling are quick twitches happening under the skin.I get these when I am sick; which confirms an auto-immune disorder.Actually they freak me out less because they seem to cover up the twitching in my calves.Hope this helps.-43RichyThe43rd

Hey!Very interesting but this is what sent me to my first neuro. My GP felt my tremors and said "yeah we need to get you to a neuro" and it scared me how he said it. I would shake so bad that I could not hold my cell phone or a drink with one hand. Whatever limbs now I have that shake (tremor) are also always feeling "weak" but its just a feeling. Both of my neuros said that most of the people that have BFS have tremors of some form and they can be mild or severe and come and go. Some days I dont feel them and other days I feel like whatever is shaking is going to stop working. But dont worry! BFS and tremors are VERY common! If do a sit up my entire body shankes when I am a few inches off the ground. Its all normal! They never mentioned scanning for MS and like I said that was my FIRST symptom. So apparently there are many other symptoms besides twitching, cramping, and tremors that go into MS also. Hope you feel better soon, give it some times and WORK those muscles out. I find that if I exercize my abs they will stop the tremor, but if I get lazy and dont work out for a few months they are back to tremoring and me looking like an idiot at the gym :D) Sean B.

I got the same things tremor/internal vibrations all the time, twitching in legs 24/7 but rest of body just 5 times a day , pain in legs calves hips and the annoying twitches in buttocks (when I sit down: like hundreds) I had a MRI and they ruled out MS--- stress is the word they say but yeah they think everything is stress. I'm going to a massage therapist for my legs and it has improved a little. I notice I've got more pain in my legs when I'm at public places.Bart
