Muscle Pain and Twitching During Illness

On two occasions now when i have had a cold or something similar, the muscle pain and twitching goes off the scale. Its as if the already hypers sensitive nerves become even more sensitive only to calm down again when you start to feel better.Has anyone else experienced this when they have become ill .

It makes sense if the problems you are experiencing are the result of your immune system attacking your own tissues. When you have a pathogen in your system, it will only intensify the immune system's attacks. In my case, many of my problems were immune and central nervous system dysfunctions.

There was another recent post on this with just the opposite reaction. When someone got sick, their BFS symptoms abated. Many others echoed this in follow up posts. It may depend on what was the initial trigger in the first place. It is my opinion (emphasis on opinion) that the BFS that I have is an auto immune condition. I think my immune system is just overactive, searching for something to attack when there isn't anything. When a cold or flu develops, the body has something REAL to fight and leaves the BFS symptoms alone while it is fighting the bug. I have not had as much as a head cold in the almost two years since this started (others have noticed this in their cases as well). I try to stay in good shape and I gulp supplements (mostly vitamins now) all the time. I eat ok, not great, but try to stay balanced despite a horrible sweet tooth :) . . I proposed this to my neuro and he didn't discount it. In fact, he has thought about putting me on an immuno-suppressant for a month to see what happens. Now that I've said this, I will probably get the flu next week! But if I do, it will give me a chance to see what happens the the BFS.
