Muscle Fatigue: Experiences?

Who here experiences muscle fatigue? I have feeling of weakness in my right arm, shoulder and hand. I am 36 (relatively young) and have been working out for about 6 months. I've not lost any strength but my left arm-shoulder-hand tire quickly. Whether I'm holding my 7 month old or holding a plate at the buffet line. I don't drop anything nor am I clumsy. This sensation isn't in my head or caused by anxiety. I had an EMG done last Feb. The doc tested my left side and said everything was exactly how it should be. However, I am worried that this can be early stages......Does anyone else experience this?To the EMG experts - Would it have picked up any abnormalities?Thoughts anyone?CDC

CDC I have muscle fatigue in the left arm and very bad in the right leg. My right leg 24/7 feels like I ran a marathon. I am not an expert on EMG's, but I have had 4 of them. If the fatigue your are describing is cause by the onset of ALS, then the fatigue is the result of dying muscle, which would show on an EMG. I have read many posts on this site about people who have asked their neurologists if an EMG can miss ALS, and the ones posted here said no. It is normal to have doubts about EMG results, but I am sure your neuro does not have any. If the doubts are really bothering you, I suggest you get another EMG, it has been 7 months, it will be clean and then you will be certain, or if your like me it will take two more.

The fatigue feeling had just started right around the time of my EMG. So what your saying is if there was something wrong the EMG would have picked it up?CDC

CDC, If the fatigue is caused by ALS, your muscles are dying, I have been told the EMG would pick it up. I think if you still filled with doubt, go see the neurologist again, that what they are there for, thats their job, and do not be embarassed about it, part of getting a handle on what is happening to us is to get piece of mind that nothing serious is going on, sometimes it takes multiple reassurances from the medical field. Your ok, but you have to believe it, good luck
