Muscle Cracking/Popping - Why?

Do any of you notice your muscle crack more? I call it muscle cracking, I don't know the correct medical term but you know how you can flex your fingers and they make that cracking sound. Another term for it might be "cracking your knuckes" or "popping your fingers". I don't know if its the muscles or the joints.

Well I have noticed since these twitches started more of my body parts crack now. I yawn sometimes and I can hear the muscles in my jaw crack. I can rotate my upper torso and it cracks. I can pop my wrist and it cracks....rotate my neck fast enough and it cracks....flex my groin area and it cracks...and I can do the same with my back and my chest. Now when I was a kid I couldn't crack anything except for my fingers but now my whole body sounds like it is rottening out because everything cracks. Another thing is I can crack body parts in multiple successions...something I could not do when I was younger.

Another thing I have noticed is when I smile my lip starts quivering. It's to the point where if I hold a smile for too long when taking a picture my mouth start shaking and I end up having to take a picture with a stone cold face. Never happenned when younger or before twitches. It's like my muscles are tiring out faster. And this is how I know something is wrong with my muscles or joints. When I was a kid I could eat rice crispy treats without any problem but now I eat them and it feels like I have put my mouth through a grueling workout. My mouth is exausted. In everything I do I seem to tire out faster than I used to. And its not because I'm old -- I'm still in my 20s but in everything I do I seem to tire out faster.

I'm noticing since the twitches started everything seems to be going downhill.

I just wanted to pass along my experiences and see if others are experiencing the same thing.

That could also be thyroid and/or pituitary problems, even testosterone imbalance among other things. I have had that too and it got much better after finding out a few things were off from my endochrinologist.

NO, it could have been written by me!

You know, some PHD candidate needs to write his/her dissertation on all of us.

YES, YES, AND YES. The joint cracking and popping (like you, in every joint possible, began BEFORE the twitching. They actually x-rayed all of my joints (that was comical, I was the first ever) and they were all perfect!

I have the quivering lip thing too. My teeth even chatter.

Try klonopin or xanax. It won't quiver and that is proof it is BFS or anxiety or both.

I totally have the joint "cracking" sounds. Its almost a predictor of my twitches. If I'm twitching in my fingers or forearms, a wrist stretch will find cracklies. If i'm not twitching in those areas that day, it'll be normal.

It was worse a few months ago, now its a bit less but still something I notice fairly often.
