Muscle Atrophy & BFS: Questions

iam just curious how many notice muscle atrpohy i have some in my right arm its new and my friend and commentd saying wow thats big dent.. if you have muscle atrphy and its bad would you also have weaknesa after or before muscle atrpohy?.. and if thats a common thing with BFS?

You do not get pathological atrophy with BFS, you may get what is called dis-use atrophy simply from not eating well and not doing enough activities anymore, which happens with some BFSers, but not the kind of atrophy you get with ALS. To have Pathological (ALS or any other disease process) atrophy, there is no way you would have normal function with that arm or any limb for that matter. Because if a muscle is dead and shrinking then how are you going to be able to perform your daily tasks with that particular limb.It simple really, no muscle, no function.Hope this helpsRobynn

I said some function loss, not that you couldnt use it at all. You can have atrophy and still use your limb but you will not be doing things the same as you were, and eventually, you wont be able to use the limb at all. Hope that makes sense. Some atrophy= some function loss.Robynn
