Hi,I recently had an MRI of my brain w/contrast done, as well an an MRI of the cervical spine done. These tests were ordered by my neurologist after I told him about the on and off again twitching in my left bicep, shoulder, foot, and right eyelid that has persisted for a couple months (possibly more). He did a clinical exam, didn't "seem" concerned, but also didn't tell me how the exam "went".The results of the MRI came back as follows: Brain scan was normal, cervical spine MRI revealed a degenerative spinal joint disease that was not very severe (osteoarthritis?). I am scheduled to have the EMG done on 1/6.My question is - does the presence of fasciculations on an EMG "mean" anything in terms of a serious disease, or would that be "normal" in someone with BFS? I guess I am asking what neurologists are looking for when they do them as it relates to ALS, MS, etc. I don't have any weakness, and since the twitches are on and off I am concerned that the body part he tests won't A. twitch during the time of the test, or B. be one that twitches at all. I've read on here that it shouldn't matter as far as the serious diseases go in terms of the areas/muscles tested....but just wanted to confirm. Thanks!
