Mirror Magnification for Twitches!

well..... I think it's because I'm really frightened about having a horrible disease and it's got to be a bit like OCD, you know, constantly checking for reassurance (I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this)

One of the ways I try to deal with it is with a little bit of light hearted self-mockery. It is a bit selfish but it makes me feel less of a weirdo to connect with other people who are similarly freaked.

So I guess that's why I do this to myself

Well I've never been diagnosed, but I must have health related OCD. I mean it's just impossible not to come to that conclusion.

I can admit that yes, I am obsessed with heel to toe walking, babinski, reflex tests, twitch watching and the like.

Hi, my name is Lacy and I'm a hypochondriac. *chuckles

You know I used to be really embarrassed, but girls, I'm honestly coming to the conclusion that this is a real problem, just like GAD or Panic attacks (oooh, I get those too. blech!) and depression. Just b/c it has to do with our health (an extremely important issue) doesn't mean that it's something to laugh at.

So smiles, and cheers ladies....and here's to healthy thoughts.

Oh God Missy don't break the mirror ! Seven years bad luck, and it is a magnified mirror...so depending on how many times the magnification is multiplied by the 7 years.....it could be BAD !!!! Like seven hundred years easily !!!!!

Crazy things....oh yeah, been there. I asked a total stranger in Macy's once to look at my back twitching (don't ask).

Last night I was holding up my hands to watch the parade of twitching taht was happening all over my fingers and hands, and my husband lost it and yelled,

"STOP LOOKING AT YOUR HANDS!!!"

:)

I need that every once in a while.

ristinaL91 you just made me laugh out loud! I just can't imagine what the stranger in Macys thought

Jenn, I appreciate your concern. I wish I could stop being so obsessive but I guess that's just how I am (I have removed the mirror tho LOL)

Alex, filming your tongue? OK, you beat me! Yes, the tongue thing is the worst but I guess we are getting to be old timers at the twitching so if nothing else has happened, I say we're good ;)

Julia

I am right there with you missy. Actually I havent looked at my tongue if a few months and this is a big accomplishment for me!! I went through a period where I was checking my tongue out constantly. My two year old started checking hers out too - so sad! She was mimicking mommy!!!

ristinaL91 you make me laugh, I could just see you at Macy's and picture a strangers resposne in my head!

I have had too many people check out my tongue too! I know my closest friends go home and tell their husbands that I am going nuts. I actually I thought I was too!!!!

My tongue rarely twitches anymore. But I must admit it was one of the most un-nerving drive me crazy things when it was. For awhile I was getting them inside my mouth inside of my cheeks, down my throat, on the roof of my mouth, lips, etc. YUCK!!!
