McArdle's Syndrome

CPK can become elevated after strenuous exercise, especially if you are more of a weekend warrior. Do you lift weights often? In my husband's case, he hadn't worked out for a long while, and he was exceptionally sore afterwards. He even developed chest pain. In fact, that was what brought him to the emergency room to begin with. They had him repeat the test when he hadn't worked out, and it had stabilized. Now he works out all the time, and he's fine.

From what I've seen of folks with McArdle's, it can take many months before their cpk stabilizes.

I wouldn't tell you not to follow up with your doctors, only to try not to worry yourself sick fretting about something that is so rare and unlikely.

Blessings,
Sue
