Managing Health Anxieties and BFS

Welcome and stay away from the other boards, especially if you have health anxieties. In answer to some of your questions:
* Your symptoms may point to BFS but some of them, particularly feelings of weakness, twitches, muscle jerks and sleep problems, may just as easily be a result of anxiety as I now believe many of mine are.
* I coped with my jerking by choosing to ignore it. At the time, it was one of my less frightening symptoms.
* Xanex should definitely help you sleep but I would not use it for any length of time as it can very tough to wean off of. You're better off with the Ambien as it is easier to stop. If you need an anti-anxiety med, Klonopin is a better way to go though it will might make you drowsy during the day.
*Don't know about numbness but a hot bath before bedtime helps with stiffness and aches and also will help you get to sleep
*Most of us here are hypos to some degree or other and most people, in general, experience some degree of fear when faced with symptoms for which they have no logical explanation or remedy.

Hope this helps and feel better!

I have no medical advice but just wanted to say that a lot of your symptoms sound like mine. It's all weird and annoying but stress plays such a big part in your health. Easier said than done, I know. As Basso once said on here "It seems as though once the switch is pulled it resists getting set back" In other words it could've been a stressful time or an illness that "blew your fuse" per se. It will take a while and lots of patience to get through this speed bump in life. Welcome to the board. :)

I hope you sleep well....

Melissa
