It depends on how you are using the magnesium. I have been working with it for about a month now, with mixed results.I have been told it is important to make sure you are consuming the correct form of magnesium (citrate, gluconate, etc.) so that your body can properly absorb it. I take gluconate, but thats what my doc told me to take, and you should always check with a doctor or a pharmacist first. I also always try to make sure to take it with my regular multi-vitamin, food and a glass of milk. The food and extra vitamins will help you better absorb the magnesium, but I have also heard that a little extra calcium is important in helping absorb it. Once again though, talk to your doc or pharmacist. You could also try magnesium by taking Epsom Salt baths, you can find this at the local pharmacy, dissolve to cups of it in a warm bath and soak for 10-15 minutes. I find this definitely helps the achy muscles and joints. Be careful with this if you have diabetes or any kidney problems though. When I first started taking the magnesium I had some digestive problems with it, but at that time I was not taking it with food, milk or a multi-vitamin. At that point I almost felt like the magnesium was making the symptoms worse. However now that I take it with food and the multi-vitamin I find that I feel a bit better.Magnesium doens't work for everyone, and everyone's bodies absorb it differently so you may or may not find relief from it. It may take a month or two to see results, and don't feel like something is wrong if you don't.
