Magnesium: Aspartate vs. Orotate

i think this is an important note for at least some of you: the usual magnesium stuff (aspartate and other) does directly go through the body without reaching the cells where the mineral is needed. therefore it does not help people with low magnesium in the cells.magnesiumorotate has a lower dose but goes into the cells (and does not affect digestion). i have made very good experiences so far. i had tried it 8 weeks ago and stopped to see a difference: it is amazing, if i take this twice a day then even my 15 months foot twitches seem to disappear and i am even able to drink coffee and do sports without twitching to follow! remember: twitching in bfs is worse after sports, coffee intake, green/black tea intake and low water drinking. all this is known to cause a lack of magnesium. magnesiumorotate also helps a lot with anxiety and anormal heart rhythym, also something that is wellknown among bfs-sufferers.

i just take four tabs per day, two in the morning, two in the evening (magnesium is usually taken in the evening). one tab contains 400 mg of magnesiumorotate (25 mg of elementary magnesium). as it reaches the cells this seems enough. the nocturnal nightmares and twitching has also stopped since!

yes, but some pbfs probably have an acute lack of magnesium in the cells. that is why you need to put it there. food magnesium doesn't help enough there.by the way anxiety also absorbs magnesium, so it is logical we pbfs all have a higher need for magnesium.

I don't know if "Magnesium orotate" works but in my case the only things that worked best is ..... NOT having any coffee or tea for 3 weeks.I have about 70 to 80% reduction in twitches. I only get a big twitch (a single contraction, not repetitive) once in a while and some small twitches (i can see them if i look carefully) that i don't feel.I looked carefully one calf during about 3 mnn and NO twitch at all (big or small) can be seen.---For paresthesia (tingling/"bee stinging"/migrating neuropathic pain/ ... etc) that is my MAJOR issue there is about 40% reduction.

don't trink coffee for months now.....it helped me but it made the twitches not disappearing...only the magnesiumorotate did....i am even able to drink a small coffee in the morning and alcohol without twitching to follow...this was impossible before....

mmmm ...The only problem i have is that i am tired to buy "things" (vit, ALA, ... etc) that never worked ...mmmm ...I will try to find it somewhere ... i don't know if i can find it in pharm ... do we have to order it (via Internet?) or is it easy to find it in store?Does it work for paresthesia too?...By the way ... happy holidays and happy new years 2010 ... with a lot of twitches/burning/stabbing pain/tingling/... etc ... just kidding

i started a week ago, think it´s too early to see any effect... how long did you take it until you noticed your sypotoms changed/decreased?

approx. 4 days....i first took ordinary magnesium(aspartate) and then began to take three of them daily, one in the morning, two at night - each pill contains 400 375 mg of orotate and just 25 mg of magnesium.
