I am almost ready to make the neuro appt...but am scared that I will find a bad Dr. with no bedside manner, and will be more scared, when I leave.Anyone out there in LOng Island that had a good neuro to reccommend??

I know if I get a good diagnosis, I will be elated, but what if the Dr. says we need to do lots of tests, I will probably drop dead in the exam room.....
Any fellow twitchers out there who have a good Dr. in this area????Thanks for any help.

ristinaL91, I don't have a neuro to suggest, but I can see that you are very anxious? You had an episode of this 15 years ago. This couldn't be ALS, it really is too long. Mine started 10 years ago and I had a big flare up this February. I saw a neuro and he said no way could it be als atfer 10 years. Also yours has moved around your body.... that is not typical of als. See a neuro if you like, but from what you have described on here, you do not have anything sinister.

Thank You Shuey!! You are a doll!
Just when I feel better though, I gt a new symptom...this time crampy painful hands, and I get scared all over again ( I dont even know if it is a symptom) I wouldn't dare look at the web-site to see. I just figured if I got up the nerve to go to the neuro, and was lucky enough to get the good diagnosis I would finally relax and live my life completely again. I just feel like this is always on the back of my mind, you know. Even when I "convince" myself not to worry, I will get a wierd twitch or shooting pain, and that's it...

I see you are from England, I will be having dinner with my cousins new wife who is in town for a few days on business. She is from London....love you guys!

ristinaL91, I sometimes get the crampy hands as well as feet. I have them right now. It seems to last about 2 - 3 days then goes off....
