Long-term Effects of Anticholinergics?

Didn't think this nuisance syndrome would last this long. Started exactly one year ago with a twitching eyelid. I was going through very stressful situations at the time with a bout of insomnia for quite a while. I was using benadryl as a sleep aid for the previous year and thought maybe that's what started this whole mess. I hear anticholinergics can cause twitching if used for prolonged periods of time; benadryl is an anticholinergic. Makes me think benadryl contributed to this nuisance.I found out last week that a childhood friend has ALS and she's now in a wheelchair and is already having trouble speaking and using her fingers. When will medical science find a cure for ALS and BFS? I know BFS doesn't compare to the monster ALS, but it would be nice to have at least some sort of treatment that works...

I've had twitching for 16 months and still have fasciculation. I too have a friend with ALS and find it dreadfully upsetting to see him deteriorate. I count my lucky starts that my condition, unlike his, is harmless. I hope you are feeling better soon.RegardsSimon
