Hello again all,Long time no see huh? I have been busy with a new job recently and on the 26th my wife gave birth to our first child, needless to say things have been rather crazy. Any way for weeks now, maybe even the last month and a half I really had not been worried about my bfs and other than the odd twitch it really seemed to fade into the background. However a few days ago I noticed a tremor in my hand when I open it, now I have had this before but for some reason it bothered me again. I noticed this on the second day in the hospital after our son was born. It has just got worse since then, my hands feel and are shaky when I move them, and when open the hand from a closed position or from rest the fingers tremor, sometimes slightly sometimes rather much. My left is worse than my right but they both do it. Does anyone here know what I am talking about? Sometimes if I leave my hands opened up for a few seconds one of the fingers will jump around sort of erratically, with stops and starts. But my hands feel shaky even as I type this. If I open my left and raise the hand up at the wrist it tremors no matter how long I hold it up for it just continues, the right does the same thing sometimes but not as bad as the other.I am also having random jerks in my legs that will slightly tug the leg in a direction.I know that this is likely do to stress but it is worrying me again, particularly with a baby to care for. Does this sound like PD to anyone here? Anyone else have these specific tremors? I can't go to a neurologist untill after the first of the year so I am stressing bad in the mean time. It is so crazy because for over a month I feel like all this was gone, now I am just wondering if maybe I didn't notice it.I am worried because I am noticing very much twitching this time, mostly just little bits in my hands, and with my grandfather having PD I am really stressing about this.

Hi, First of all, congratulations on your baby!! I had my third son last year, and shortly afterward all this twitching started...still grappling with twitches and tremors. Anyway, I've developed a weird shaking sensation in my left bicep, and I asked my friend about it (he's a neurologist in New York). He told me he asks his patients these questions if they are concerned about PD:Are there any triggers, worsening or relieving factors for the tremor? Does alcohol make it better or worse? Do you feel generally slow and stiff in your movements? Any trouble rolling over in bed or getting up from a low chair? Any problems with loss of balance or change in the way you walk? Do people say you are shuffling? Any change in your handwriting or voice? Also, my friend's dad was diagnosed with PD years ago, and long before the doctors figured out that's what he had, she knew it from his handwriting. It had become very cramped. It's important to realize that PD is about more than tremors. My aunt has it and she has no tremor, but her movements have really slowed and her voice is so soft I can barely hear it.I hope this helps. I have cycled through all the major diseases, PD included, because I have terrible health anxiety. I'm quite sure you're fine, since you haven't mentioned all these other things from your previous posts. Sounds like plain old BFS to me. I hope you can relax and enjoy your baby!! Michele

I have noticed that some days it is worse than others though I can't always pinpoint why that is. Adrenaline certainly makes it worse, the other day I was attacked by my neighbors dog and it was way worse for a bit afterwards. No one has said anything about my gait, and just last week I was sparring in martial arts practice and throwing kicks so I would say my balance is the same as its ever been, not great nor bad by my standards. My voice seems the same, though I have not payed attention to my handwriting. I can say for sure that intense exercise makes it much worse, after sparring last week my hands were so bad it was very difficult to write and I found I had to write much bigger than normal, though it settles down after a while. Haven't tried alcohol as I don't drink but I could have a beer or two in the name of science, lol.Anyone else here notice that it is worse after exercise? Also anyone else notice that it is worse on one side? I can also say that my mothers hands shake some, my 19 year old brother cant hold something still in his hands for the life of him and my 20 year old cousins fingers dance, so maybe it is a family thing. It just bugs me because it had got so much better that I really did not notice it, and now it is back full force.
