Living with Twitching for 5 Months

Hey I'm Elaine. I have been reading the posts and thinking about joining although I would rather put the whole nightmare behind me and move on.

I have been twitching for 5 months. My neurologist did not do an EMG. He said I did not need one. I can walk on my toes, heels, get up off the floor, said my exam was normal.

Said he thinks this came on from extreme anxiety and he has put me on Lexapro for anxiety.

Wondering if anyone has taken this drug before and if they have had any luck moving on. Also did it cause any increased twitching and did that ever subside at all?

What about any other SSRI's

Hi Elaine,

My Neurologist had me do the same - take Lexapro. The twitching and other symptoms went away. I didn't like some of the side effects, so I went off of it after 6 six weeks. My health-related anxiety started coming back a few weeks later and so did the twitching, etc.

I didn't go back on Lexapro and recently starting to just ignore the twitching. I hardly twitch at all now. I figure the less I worry about it the better off I am.
