Living with Chronic Fatigue and Weakness

Hey Geoff, I know the feeling man. My right leg feels so weak yet in testing there is no difference between my left, which incidently, is where most of my fasics are. I posted a question a bit ago about how long people have there fatigue, weakness, etc. and it really varied....

OK last few days legs are cold and they feel like they have " static " in them. I know thats not a great description but....and I always feel the need to stretch, like there stiff.....This Sucks...

My legs and arms do this. THey feel like a heavy feeling, they do this off and on. My calfs have cramps almost everyday, my biceps also..Jenn

P.S. Make sure you stretch

I do but itnever seems to help....I'am sitting at my desk and just extended my legs all the way. They shake a bit and then I reall feel no better. Having RA does not help either It's acting up

Can't offer any advice on what to do about it but can say that I have had the heavy legs throughout my whole wonderful bfs experience, even before the twitching started (nearly eleven months now)

It hasn't got any worse or any better. I'm sorry not to be more help, but I guess sometimes it is reassuring to know that others are going through the same thing without it amounting to anything more serious.

Well, I took Jenn's advice and decided to try and mow the lawn, My calves were killing me but I forged on, I somehow managed to do it ( 1 hour ), After, I watched the Twiching storm in my feet, toes, calves for about an hour. Talk about ache!! Today my calves feel like they were beat with a baseball bat. Gotta love thgis BFS *beep*. ??? With a MND does exercise cause the muscles to twitch more??

I for one would caution against exercising when your body feels so bad. As a former college athlete, I always subscribed to the theory that exercise will make it better. In my experience, that wasn't the case with bfs.....exercise only lead to more pain and misery. I would suggest just the opposite, give your muscles a break and time to heal. But we are indeed all different so do some experimenting and see what works for you.

Take care,

Gary

Yes I'm with Gary on this one.

Exercise is not always prudent when your body is protesting so vehemently against it

My legs feel like they have lead weights pulling them down but I made myself go for my normal thirty minute run this morning

Upshot is, I feel so, so much worse for it. I can hardly lift my legs to climb the stairs right now.
