Hi allHave 24/7 really violent constant twitching in my calfs now for 5 months. Tonight when i was walking i had the usual soreness feeling in my calf BUT then my leg whist walking kept trying to cramp up. I felt like i had to stop and really stretch my leg to make the feeling go away. My leg felt so stiff and rigid with this cramping up feeling as i was walking.anyone else had this?Chris

Tons of times Chris...seems to come and go when it wants ...also the cramping seems worse momentarily when the leg is off the floor mid flow between steps It a long haul Chris but you'll get there ;)

thanks mate that is reasurring as i know what you mean about the leg being in mid air between steps and feeling worse. So you get the same feeling huh? where you have to stop walking and stretch out your leg to make the cramp go away, ony to find when you walk again it is still there and feels stiff and rigid?By the way i am not talking about walking long distances, this happened when i was walking to the corner shop !!Chris

A lot of this lately here on the forum - must be the effect of global cooling causing this colder than normal winter (for those of us in the N hemisphere). Yes, yes, achy stiff crampy muscles presently appearing in the lower back and thigh. It is funny that they Dx you 'you have benign cramp fasciculation syndrome' then the next time round say that it isn't a true cramp because a true cramp doesn't allow any movement what-so-ever. Hey, who named this thing anyway? It wasn't me. We should all get together and give it a better name (it may be difficult if we leave out all curse words though).Chris - I find I get some of the worse cramps out of a sitting or reclining position - the inactivity and lack of circulation makes it worse. Try a few gentle stretches and small warm-ups before you go from sedentary to active and see if it helps.
