Two days back on the exercise and my calfs are really feeling it. Lots of pain, some fasics and soreness :( Do I keep training through this and ignore, will the pain ease.Who out there has kept their training despite the grief

I did 15 minutes aerobic workout on friday and my calves were terribly sore all weekend, they´re just now starting to get better. I still walked 7 miles on sunday. Just gotta work your way through the pain :)

Cheers Michacar,Never too sure whether to keep going to get the benefit of the endorphins with the exercise, measured against the pain and stiffness in the calfs and hamstrings a day later!!Suffering today more from the pain than the fasics. :D) :( :p p.s Really pleased to hear news from Neuro visit 3. You can finally let go.

Just an opinion but you really need to keep up the exercise - or else risk a bit more quivering jelly with those twitches. To scale back was one piece of advice I got that was off - it just made me weaker and more vulnerable to injury plus it was soooo much harder to get back in shape with pnhe then the good ol days where I could go full scale and worry later. But I had to moderate my exercise and do some adjusting; making sure to do some conscious deep breathing and relaxation with stretches afterwards went a long way also. Even now - if I get tense muscles from working out (normal) I try to do some relaxation of those areas just afterward and for a few days even if it's just for a few minutes a day. Plus I had to learn to keep my head straight and realize that there was no reason to tense up more or even allow reactions like twitching to working out which should be something to heal your body not mess it up. In other words, expecting problems sometimes creates them (a self-fulfilling prophecy) and expecting to feel better and more whole goes toward that end. Try it.

I'mok thanks. I'll go back to the gym tomorrow. Right calf is very tight and sore tonight. But hey let's get in that gym. How are you basics after your gym work.

I'm guessing you mean fasics. I don't tend to get them any more or less these days with working out (I used to but have gotten past that part of it) - usually I feel better for it, I just have to watch out for stuff tightening up afterward and work hard on relaxing areas of tension. Like on Saturday & Sunday I did yard work (trimming, cutting shrubs and limbs, hauling stuff to the curb) and tried to work out the shoulder soreness before it got bad on Sunday and Monday (avoiding the 3-day curse as we used to call it when I was more aggressive about exercising - where after 48 hours of muscle strain it all of a sudden hits you). It works for me, but really, a lot of it is a mind game - I constantly remind myself that there is no reason to tense up and how unnecessary it is along with doing the stretches and breathing techniques etc. Cooling down mind and body. Even when I just work out, like core work (abdominal ex mostly) for an hour - I will do a short cool down. I'm not at it for long periods like the old days. Maybe you are pushing yourself too hard? Or maybe you are not cooling down enough or hydrating well - you'll have to play with it - everyone's different.

Serious aching pain in my left calf and thigh tonight. Different sensation to normal. Usually a tightness ( only) in both calves and usually in morning. This pain is a first for me- not pleasant at all. Been a little anxious last couple of days ( left hand tremors as well), probably the reason. :( Rodger

Roger, sorry to hear about your down turn. I know this will sound wrong, but I'm so glad. Forge last 7 weeks my bfs has come back and i all I can feel is pain in calf, quadsand hamstrings. I felt worried like you. Chin up and let's support each other.
