Hi Ramona,

Sorry to hear you're following the trail we've all blazed for you, but at least you know you're not alone! ;) I would also recommend the pnhe.info site if you haven't already seen it, becasue there is a good description of what accounts for the symptoms of many people have here. Feel free to share you steps along the way as we've all probably been there before and will understand.

Get as much rest as you can and limit your stress as much as humanly possible!

Take Care,
Sir_Trouserz

hey! welcome!

I'm a newbie here, too. At this moment, my back and my ams and legs are twitching. Now, I could freak out or I could just go on with my life considering that my neuro said it was BFS and I had a clean EMG. So, what do I choose? I choose the freaking out. Which is why I'm here now, reading your post, seeing myself in it, and getting much calmer because of that fact.

I'm actually laughing. But with you. I'm not alone. You're not alone. None of us are alone in this. It's actually the same principle that works in AA and other 12-step groups...although we only have two steps...1) accept the truth of what our doctors told us and 2) get on with our lives.

You've so come to the right place. You're fine. I am, too. We all are. Yesterday I freaked out. Came here. And before I knew it I was laughing at myself.

So, welcome. Write all you want. Let it all out. This board is full of some amazingly compassionate and wonderful people. I am forever grateful to the person who sent me the link to this site. :)

Sir_Trouserz - Thanks for your response & kind words. I forget to mention that sometimes when I am getting these annoying jerks at night it feels like I am trying to catch my breath (which may be what's waking me up some of the time??). I think I read this was a symptom of something sinister, but have you heard of this happening to people with BFS as well? Thanks again for your time - I will definitely check out that site.

aaaiiiieeeggghh - love the name! I've been feeling like that quite often lately as well. Thanks for your response and I'm glad I (or my neurotic post) could make you laugh!! I know you said you were new to this board also, but have you have symptoms of bfs for a while or are they fairly recent? I'm completely with you on the choosing to freak out. I have been doing yoga a lot lately and just generally trying to curb my negative thoughts about this, but it's very, very hard. Thanks for the welcome - I'm sure I will be here often!
