Joint Pain: Am I Alone?

Hi Gelianna,

I tend to get pain near joints, but not in them. Usually muscle tissue or a tendon an inch or two away from the joint. I have had pain in my wrist, which I think is partially BFS, but I've been able to mostly resolve it by changing posture at the computer.

My knee has been bothering me quite a bit. The pain seems to be below the knee cap on the patellar tendon and occasionally around the knee cap. But not deep in the knee joint.

I don't know if this is similar to your knee problems?

I have had ankle pain where the ligaments cross over the top of the foot.

I know other are other members that have specifically mentioned joint pain.

Per my GP, joint pain that improves or goes away with activity is likely related to OA. I had a low back x-ray which was normal except that it showed "arthritis consistent with age." I am 45.

I have a reaccuring pain in my lower left part of my back that sometimes goes down my leg (sciatica?) and joint pain in my shoulder blade. I don't know if they are directly related to BFS but I have been tested for all kinds of autoimmune things and I am fine!

This whole thing started with joint pain with me. It turned into muscle pain, then the fasciculations. So I guess my answer is yes. My knees, my elbows, my wrists, etc.....everything used to hurt.

I am in a lot of pain these days, especially since I have increased my physical activity, which really sucks.

You may well have arthritis, there is nothing in the medical books that I know of that says that arthritis and BFS are mutually exclusive.
