Jaw Twitching, Nipping Tongue?

On top of my night time tremors, I have one more thing....On a few occassions, my jaw has jerk causing my to nip the side of my tongue. It seems to only happen as I am falling asleep...or at least that is the only time I have noticed it. I've also had twitching in my cheek or jaw...I honestly can't tell which. It's in the cheek area along the base of my jaw bone. Does anyone else experience this or can anyone explain this? I am trying not to "let myself go there," but it does upset me a bit.Thanks...Jess

Muscle spasms gross enough to cause your whole jaw to move and even result in biting your cheek would seem way too much to represent any sort of neuromuscular deficit. Involuntary movements of the mouth area are caused by lots of things, especially meds people have been on, even in the past. Trembling by even more things. I have no idea what could be behind all of your symptoms, but I think you can safely rule out some things.
