Itchy Nose & Sneezing During Cardio

Perhaps this isn't exactly a BFS question, but this strange thing has started happening to me only in the past few months and I'm a bit puzzled. Anytime I do cardio, my nose startes to itch, then I start to sneeze, and then it runs uncontrollably. Also (sorry about this nasty detail) I get tons of mucus in the back of my throat to the point it gags me while I'm working out. I thought at first I was allergic to something in the facility I was working out in, but we recently changed and I'm still doing it. I take Allegra daily for seasonal allergies and its always worked well. I've never had this problem before and its very discouraging. I read online about exercise induced rhinitis but there was no explanation provided. Why all of a sudden would this hit me? Just coincidental its started since BFS hit? Let me know what you think. Have a great day!Frances

i just wanted to say, that starting in December I went through the worst bout of sneezing and running nose and drainage. It is now March and it has not stopped. Allegra, Claritin, don't do much for me. The doctor is a bit puzzled but blames it on my furnace, even though I paid to have all my ducts cleaned and put in the best filter available. i am still runny nosed and sneezing alot, mostly in the a.m. I don't think this is related to exercise because my fat ass hasn't been to the gym in almost two months. I have not suffered from anything like this prior to BFS. I do get seasonal allergies in the spring due to grass pollen. Nothing like this at this time of year ever.

I've been the same way. I've never had allergies before. My GP suggested the good ol' standbys, Zyrtec, Claritin, Allegra, but so far no relief. It doesn't matter if I'm at home, or if I leave the state and am away for a week or more. The allergies never go away. They just ramp it up about 1000 notches when I exercise. From what I read online the exercise induced rhinitis seems to be common, but I want to know if it's sudden appearance has something to do with BFS. HMMMMMMM, VERY INTERESTING.
