Investigating Vitamin B6 Toxicity

Has anyone looked into this?Scroll down to read the responses (including mention of twitching). Nerve damage, etc. According to some articles it takes several months - but the longer you supplement b6 the lower the dose needs to be in order to cause nerve damage and hyperexcitability. I just realized I had been taking a multivitamin that contains nearly 4,000% the daily recommended dose, and i was taking it for at least 3 years (Whole Foods Complete Multivitamin). The daily recommended dose is 1.5mg .... and I have been taking 75mg daily for years. Strangely - deficiency causes similar symptoms so its good to make sure you're getting enough, but what is found in vitamins is absurdly high. Toxicity typically starts at 500mg but if taken for many months (and based on your body mass i am sure), this number begins to decrease.Just something to think about.

Here is another resource I wasn't aware of.Might find some solutions / suggestions / tips in here:Check this one :SCROLL DOWN TO TEXASGAL777 ..... - Burger

This has always concerned me. Not only do I have B6 in Kavinase (a natural supplement that works with your GABA system) but also in melatonin that I take, as well as my multi-vitamin. I have heard that B6 toxicity is more common in women. I just don't know how we're supposed to know how much to take?Mitra
