Increasing Twitches, Worried

Lately I have been getting a big increase in my twitches (for the past month). I can't relate it to anxiety (my twitching and anxiety levels never seem to go hand in hand) or anything else. I am not as freaked out over this as in the past, but I can't help worrying a little. I twitch constantly in new places like arms and hands and get a lot of tingling on my tongue (I won't let myself look though). This morning I was woken by twitching and tingling in a whole section of muscle at once that kind of scared me. I also get a lot of mini-cramps. Does this happen to you?

Hi StephG22,
Yes, this does happen to me....funny just when you feel 'on top' of everything and the twitching seems to have subsided, it starts right back up again when you least expect it.

My twitching never seems to coincide with my anxiety/stress as well. Maybe it's some sort of a delayed reaction (?). Then again, anxiety can just 'happen' with no trigger--so maybe we don't even realize how anxious our bodies are because we're just used to it...who knows??

I can definitely relate though. Of all the odd places, I seem to be getting mini-cramps in my pinky toes and just under my chin on the left side. I've also been having some major back issues lately. I've never had back pain before. It's not a sharp stabbing pain--just a dull ache that comes on mostly when I'm laying down. It's kept me up at night for a week now--and I'm TIRED!!! My dad said it's probably some muscles that are so tensed, they just won't relax. I'm caving today and using some hefty doeses of ibuprofen. ugh--

I'm the same way. I will go a weekend with hardly a twitch then they will show up again in full force. I have not been able to figure out why they are worse some days than others.
