Hypothyroid Results: All Clear?

Hi guys,

I finally got all my results back from the naturopathic doctor this morning. She found NO FOOD ALLERGIES, and NO CANDIDA or any digestive problems. however my minerals seem to be off and one of the tests showed I was slightly Hypothyroid. I asked her how this could have been missed by a regular checkup and she told me doctors only look at one value of TSH to diagnose thyroid problems, many hormones are at work and you must look at the details. She says many people have slight thyroid prob but are unaware of them. She said a major symptom of hypothyroid is muscle pain and tiredness as well as mood changes and anxiety. I know my anxiety is not just due to that, I've in fact always been kind of anxious. but since last year i've had ''panicky feelings'' for no apparent reason at all at times. Now obviously she gave me some supplements to try to correct my imbalances. I will keep you guys posted, I don't know if it will work but its good to have some answers ;)

cheers

Ian

Ian:

Thanks for the info on a possible thyroid link. I've read a fair amount about how the screening test for thyroid insufficiency isn't that accurate. Something about measuring T3 instead of T4. What makes me consider the chicken vs. the egg is that thyroid stuff can also be related to autoimmune/antibody stuff, just like BFS may be.
