Hey, I just had a level of 720 come back on this test and am wondering about it as well. Not sure how old you are, but my neuro said a lot of times this is elevated in younger, active people who exercise. I hadn't done much exercise for about 3 months, and in the last week I had played soccer 3-4 times, including the night before I got the test. I read somewhere that this level fluctuates and peaks at about 18-24 hours after exercise.
That said, it might be something more complicated so you might want to get some more tests just to make sure. I'm having the CPK test again in 2 weeks and am not supposed to do any heavy exercise until then. I'm also having an EMG then which I'm a little more anxious about...
Good luck and hope you're feeling alright! What other symptoms have you had?
Very common with BFS to have mildly elevated CK. Just monitor it with Neuro, and make sure s/he weighs in on what is exactly "mild" and what is a bit more than that. But it IS common with this disease. I have it too (not quite that high)...
My hubbie has bfs and his CK was elevated so much once, they almost admitted him to the hospital.
It is common with bfs, and also common amongst weekend warriors, who go long periods of time without exercise and then decide to make up for it, all at once, LOL.
mine has been around 650-800 for the past 4 years. apparantly if you have muscle damage your muscles excrete a fluid that raises your ck level. even 800 is not high. my neuro said a high level would be around 2200 and above
