Latley I feel like I am having trouble breathing and out of breath alot but another thing I have noticed is when I am trying to go to sleep or just waking up its like I take a half breath without trying..... Kinda like in between breaths.Like a very small gasp mabey. I dunno. Its all so scarey. Anyone????

Yes me... I am experiencing this and sometimes I think i have delayed swallowing but not sure if it really is delayed swallowing. I think it's all anxiety and depression.

This sort of breathing problem sounds like a manifestation of being anxious. I think breathing issues are quite common with the anxiety side of coping with BFS.RegardsSimon

simon, I am just so tired of all of this stuff. I have had breathing issues on and off for this past 14 months but about 2 weeks ago started having to catch my breath a little just from walking from a parking lot and into a store. I was carrying my grandaughter who weighs about 30 pounds. Since then I seem to have to catch my breath just walking across the house. I do have a cough also mostly dry at this point. Of course with other symptems it scares me. I seem to have developed a fear of seeing a doctor also. I am worried what they will say. Its funny because my last bout with bfs the only thing that gave me any relief was doctors and tests they ran. Do you really think this is more anxiety? I need to learn to believe that this is anxiety . I as usual am confused and scared.

Hi thereI do'nt think you need to be too scared about this particualr symptom. Certainly it has nothgin directly to do with BFS or anything neurological at all for that matter. Hpwever, it may well be related to your BFS via the anxiety you are experiencing. I would think having a doctor listen to your chest and arrange any simple tests that may be needed would be a really good way to put your mind at rest. I can't imagine that the 'worst case scenario' is very bad at all - even if the doc did find a problem it'd probably be nothing more concerning that something like asthma etc. All such problems are treateable. However, I am optmiistic for you that the doc will find that there is no medical problem at all.All the bestSimon

Simon, Thankyou. I really take some relief in the fact that you dont find anything i wrote to be concerning. I just dont seem to be able to find reason on my own anymore. I did search my old posts. I used to post under Barbo36, and I did write about having the feeling my lungs wernt working properly. Its funny though because once I had my emg and convinced myself I wasnt on my last leg the breathing along with alot of other things didnt bother me anymore. Until about a year ago..... This stuff is crazy
