OK, I am freaking out.... I have no idea why I did it again, but did looked up babinski and my small toe moved alittle and I am freaking out,. The last test I got was in March could it of changed? When you guys do it do your toes move at all, I am freaking...help!

My big toe doesnt move, but my little toe is moving a little...it also says if the toes flare out...is this the start?? I am freaking out! I mean would you have a normal one a few months ago and then ??

a positive babinski sign is when the BIG toe goes upwards and the others downwards chez...otherwise it is normal i guess.....and even when positive, it does not say it is als.....

My toes do all kinds of crazy sh*t. My big toe doesn't pop up for the Babinski, but I seem to have clonus in my toes and if I press on my feet they bounce up and down. I am worried about all that, but it is definitely not a positive Babinsky. The big toe is the one to worry about.

You can't test your own Babinksi. The foot has to be stroked in just the right place, at the proper intensity, and the toes move whether it is positive or negative, they just move in a different direction. Self testing of reflexes falls into the realm of "don't try this at home." Blessings, Sue

Twin, my toes jump too. Do you mean if you are sitting in a chair and point your toes the leg bounces a little. Mine is very subtle... I've heard that this can be normal physiological clonus in healthy people. Constant tension is needed to keep the bounce. Is this what you are talking about?E

freaked me out a little bit too. All kinds of toe stuff here too. If I stretch my pinky toe to the outside of my foot (not with my hand, actually just moving it with my foot) it'll spasm like the muscle won't want to relax and sit there for about 5 seconds quivering in a constant state of tension. By the way, did you ever get tested for Lymes. I'm from NJ originally (prior to the AF) and I had it when I was little, they gave me 4 weeks of antibiotics and called it good. I got bit last year about a month before all this started for me (visiting NJ) and that's when the sh*t hit the fan.

I was tested for Lyme and it came out negative. No explanation for my crazy toes and twitchy muscles. I had been coping well, but the last few days have been tough.

I went through the self testing for Babinski too, and it really does no good. My second toe actually moves back and forth. I actually performed it so many times on myself that once or twice, my big toe even went up. Don't test your reflexes. When I was self testing my babinski, I was doing it just like the you tube neurology videos did online. However, every single neuro who has done this on me has applied very little pressure and some haven't even started at the heel. Once, I even tried to tell my neuro how to do the babinski and he laughed at me. My toes don't go up or down, and my neuro said that as long as my big toe didn't go up, it didn't matter.Try not to torture yourself with this anymore and enjoy your weekend.
