Help Needed: Nagging Cough

Ok, I need a little reassurance again. Have noticed a nagging cough and need to clear my throat 5-10 minutes after eating and drinking anything. So far no trouble swallowing or choking but it is really annoying and has me thinking I've got a swallowing disorder. I know it might be reflux or sinuses or both but I'm worried again.
Left a message for my neuro (am sure he is getting tired of hearing from me) about possibly getting a swallowing study done. Haven't heard back yet (its been 4 days)..

I'm worried again ......

Hi

This could be that little devil called bfs, once you start thinking about something it seems to get worse. I know i have been there.
At Christmas in 2005 i thought i was having problems like you and the more i thought about it (24/7) it become worse. Please try to calm down as stress can cause problems like you describe ie reflux and sinus it is likea round about. the worse the condition the worse the stress and so on.
How long have you had BFS? as this takes some time to adjust to.

Good luck and fight this thing.

Chris

Chris,
Thanks for the reply.
I had a bout of BFS about 4 years ago and then it stopped after about 4-6 months. Started up again Sept 1st this year.

As far as the swallowing thing goes, I think I am getting a handle on it and am almost positive that it is related to my sinuses and reflux. Found an interesting article on Ativan and other anxiety drugs making reflux worse because it loosens the muscle (LES) that keep food down in the stomach. Really had a good day yesterday. Ate tons of food (turkey etc) and had no problems.
You are right once we get something in our mind, it makes us anxious and things get worse.
Thanks for your help, have a great day.
