Help - Large Twitches in Arms

Hi,
I would like to know, if anyone has large twitches - I think these arent fascics, these are bigger and I have them especially in my elbows below my biceps when I stretch my arm after resting. Its not only small string but whole 1/3 twitch for a few seconds.

Thanks...

I dont have video of this (I show my neuro video on typical fascics).

Well, look at the area in your elbow below the biceps with the dent, just the joint. And imagine this area twitches. It just shakes when I stretch hands after long relaxing. I cant recruit it again, only later.

I have read here many of BFSers can recruit twitches by stretching/flexing muscles?

Had,

Yes many of us get twitches after we stretch, at least I do, I also get cramps in that muscle.

When you say your muscle shakes, are you meaning it is ratchety?? Like a non-smooth movement?...Jenn

eyennyGlimmer: Yes, its not smooth (my fascics are never smooth though). This place just shakes (jerks?) for 1-2 secs and its ok. Im bit nervous of it..Its not fast, I think its 2/per sec?

Had,

You mean you didn't show him your fasiculations, just a video on someone fasiculations. How can he diagnose you like that

If he is sending you to a motor neuron specialists just by looking at a video of fasiculations, but not specific to you...You need to run away from this guy.

I know my muscles my back of shoulders, above blades, shake. I dont know if they shake but can tell my muscles are jumping around, not a twitch but like a muscle shake. I really get this the most when I am having internal tremors, they are not tremors but very fast muscle movement, but not twitches either. I dont know if that is what your are like or not.

Is it possible you can show us the tape you showed the Dr.? Jenn

Yes, the muscle shake, but not whole muscle, only its part. Its like one side of muscle twitch.

Sorry, I cant show the video since I give it on Flash Disc to my neuro. Maybe later when I get it back.

I have tremors too, I dont know what does internal tremor means, but I feel Im still very nervous and I have to realize I need to relax to free my body...

EDIT: VIDEO!

I found this on YouTube, the first few seconds are exactly like mine..probably the rest too.

Nic: Thats not true completely, since there are myoclonic jerks and this is also what the guy on the video has. Fasciculation is slight twitching visible under skin, myoclonic jerk is contraction of whole muscle or muscle group so its more noticeable.
My neuro told me again that ALS twitching is very gentle and vary in intensity, no whole muscle shaking like this.

"Myoclonic jerk" is only the latin description of allmost all types of sudden contractions.

On the video I see only a wobbling surface where many small areas twitch quite fast but still not really organized. The rest is FAT + Skin that makes it seem bigger.

Fasciculations do not really move a limb (exept if it is something small like a finger or eyelid). Ok, they might cause a tiny movement in some cases, but not as a "real jerk" would. See also knee-jerk, achilles-jerk etc. (reflexes).

Study here: ;)
