Hello, Worried About Twitching

Wanted to say hi and glad I found this forum , started twitching 3-4 weeks ago and I can say for the first time in my life I'm scared , first thing I did was do a google search and of course ALS came up , well I'm finding it hard to get out of my head , I have a EMG in 2 weeks , I sometimes gets twitches in other calve also had a few in my right arm and upper chest but 99 percent stay in my right calve and just below it , and now it feels like my hair is standing up on the front of my leg , I am in no pain and I don't feel week , amd I get a little twiching on the same leg but in the hamstring area , this sucks

Hi Gordon, you sound like classic BFS so far, that strange feeling you describe in your shins is also classical for it. Some call it strange numbness, here in Emilyomousey we call that "furry" because it feels as if there's hair on your shins that influences your sensation there. Stay cool, take a seat ;)

All I can say, is we've all been through what you're going through. It is indeed scary in the beginning! But, you're going to be fine. You know why? You don't have weakness. And, your EMG is going to be clean. Plus, you know calf twitching is by far the most common place to twitch with BFS. Try to find someone on this board who doesn't have calf twitching...Hang in there. Wishing you the best with your upcoming EMG (which I'm sure will be fine, but I certainly remember the stressful hell I went through prior to my EMG).Mitra
