Have Jerks Stopped?

Martin,
I assume your question is have the jerks stopped?

Yes, for the most part. I still do get them, and sometimes big ones, lol. But mostly from what I understand, my legs move around a bit just before I go to sleep, otherwise, I'm quiet as a nun. ;)

Perhaps you might ask your physician to prescribe some Ambien for sleep. You would only need to take it for a few nights, just to get your sleep cycle back on track.

I know others who have used it say it is wonderful.

Blessings,
Sue

I would get these shock like jerks just before I fall asleep but I would also get them while I was watching tv, especially my right leg and shoulders. That is how my symptoms started. As my anxiety got worse so did the jerks. I went on ativan at night and it helped, when I went off it I got them. They have stopped now since I was dx, the anxiety makes this so much worse......Jenn

God, what a bunch of whiners you Canadians are, and how irritating that you spell so many werds rong.

Actually I love Canada. Every time I visit I get myself a jar of that pate made out of seal testicles and whale penises, or is that the other way around? Hmm, no matter, it is tres delicious.

Oh, btw, I have had those jerks in my bed before...hmm, that doesn't sound right. I mean I have never been with a jerk in bed, but I have jerked in bed...I think that is better.

I have even jerked whilst awake while listening to a concert. My arms seemed to have minds of their own, and kept time whether it was 6/8 or 2/4. I believe you quaint Canucks use the term 2/4 when talking about booze...you really are a delightful bunch.

I jerked in church once when my wife made me go, I was most definitely asleep then. Practically catatonic really. OMG, it was horrendous, heaped with moose turds full of tedium. Oh wait, that was a movie I watched once...never mind.

I hope that is of some use.

PS: Have you ever seen Big-Foot, someone told me there still are some up there in the woods?

I had one so bad that the entire lower half of my body literally shot up about 4 inches off the bed. I woke up hysterical, went straight to the computer ang Googled it to see what was wrong with me. Then after I gained my composure, I realized that random jerks are normal and happen to everyone. ESPECIALLY my wife. Her jerks wake ME up but she sleeps right through them. Don't know how she does that ??!!

Here's a quote from a neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic answering a post to a worried person like ourselves

QUESTION
"5 Do random jerks of fingers, arms, mouth signal ALS?"
ANSWER
"5.No"
